Hi,
I am trying to understand what account/server roles is used in Trusted Connection.Let me understand with an example !

Lets say we have a machine A on which SQL Server is installed with both SQL server and Windows Authentication.

Now from a client machine I, say use Query Analyzer, to connect to machine A, I use, windows Authentication to connect and hence I click trusted connection (right?) and there by I do not use any User id/password.
Now with what NT account am I connected to the Server and what Server Role do I have on machine A?

Please explain..or correct me if I am understanding anything wrong?

You are connecting with the NT account that is logged into Client Machine 1.

as mrdenny said "You are connecting with the nt account that is logged into client machine 1" if your are connecing as domain\userfred then you are connecting to the sqlserver as domain\userfred.

as for permissions, you will have what ever server role that was set up for that person. if they are set up as a system admin, they will be the sysadm role. and ect
