Question on report bursting / SDK

Currently using CR/CE10 on Oracle 9; migrating to XIR2 by year end.

I have a new report request that calls for a single recurring (daily) instance with multiple pages where each page must be routed to a distinct email destination (all destinations would be outside the enterprise network). The list of destinations would not be the same from day to day but would vary by factors within the daily report filter.

I've looked at one of the 3rd party bursting apps and it claims to be able to accomplish this objective (at a price). I also understand from talking to BO that it is also possible to do this with the SDK (in either CE10 or XIR2).

My question is, has anyone used the SDK to achieve report bursting and, if so, could you rate the complexity of that procedure on a 1-10 scale?

I would welcome any and all comments about the specific question or report bursting in general.

Thanks

APOS have a report bursting tool that integrates with CE10, BOEXI so therefore it must be possible to do it using the SDK. As to how much effort and what degree of difficulty, I don't know.

Bursting to email is one of the features of Crystal 2008 that they showed at the conference this week. I'm not exactly sure how it works but it looked like you have to be able to build the list of email addresses based on data in the report.

A computer only does what you actually told it to do - not what you thought you told it to do.

Native "Bursting" within XI won't be part of the XI products until RELEASE 3 (or 2008 or 12 or whatever they call it).

Expected mid-2008.

The APOS solution is your best bet unless you have a code-monkey who understands the SDKs.
