Question on printing laser documents on unix

I have a general question. I would like to print custom forms on a laser printer off a unix machine. I am looking for kinds like the ones you get from Crystal Reports. That would allow data to be sent to them as they are being printed. I am not sure where to start looking. Could someone please help.
