I've never really used this feature, or thought about it till I read one of the threads.

So when I package, it makes a folder of all the links and fonts, does that mean its a copy of everything, say the original was moved, renamed, lost, so links would be broken, but the packaged document would have it all.

Correct?

Nikky.

....and the reason more isn't made about this is because it takes up more memory I suppose.

As long as the links were properly linked before packaging, you'll have a copy, as long as you chose that option when packaging.

It's perfect for when you need to send a native ID file out to someone, say a printer who can't, for some reason, support PDFs. Or to archive. I sometimes package the files, then zip them for projects that we do yearly in pretty much the same manner.
