I have a magix which is set to send base number plus extension. I have one extension that has a private line. Does it make sense that when they choose that button, and get a copper line that doesn't go through the PRI T1, that the CID would still be base plus extension? I would think it would be the copper line.

Nope. Caller ID devices would show the ANI associated with the POTs line or Unavailable/Private if you dial the *67 prefix.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

OK - So if you inspect the button, it says 808-I, which is phone number xxx-xxx-0133. If you press the button and call my cell phone, it shows xxx-xxx-3591, which is the did number of the extension. How can this be so? If you pull the line off the system and dial it from a regular telephone, it shows 0133. I am confused.

Use a SLT to make a test call from the LEC's demarc to your cell phone and see what happens. Cables could be flopped at the demarc.

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

even though you are calling out on your pvt line ,you are dialing out thru the system on your extension.you asked the system to show your base & extension which it is doing

There's no way the Merlin is modifying the outgoing CID on an analog loop start line. You say that you see the correct CID when you pull the line from the system and dial from a single line phone. So it's not really connected to 808 or your call is going out on an SA button instead of the line button.

TTT - I agree with you. I was on site, put the copper line on a biscuit, dialed my cell and got the 0133 number. Then I ran an RJ11 cord from the biscuit to the 2nd 408 board, top port (which would be 808)and called the number from the MLX phone that "owns" it. Swear I got 0133. So the next day when the ofc mgr tries it, no such luck. SHE gets 3591, which is her DID when she calls her cell. Swears she is pressing the button that says 808-I and NOT dialing 9 - she is a better-than-average system programmer so I believe her. I am wondering if in fact 808 is NOT the correct port - if there is a T1 in board 1 and I missed it in my counting....will have the mgr check.

That is what I would check. See if 808 is really the T1 card and not the analog line. The Merlin cannot outpulse a different number on an analog line.

How about posting a print of the trunks and lines in the switch, including the Pools?

Using the line/trunk access code, are you reaching the "808" line port and are you seizing the 0133 line?

What happens when you call the 0133 line?

....JIM....

Dum*&#s attack on my part - had the wrong trunk number. Some days it doesn't pay to log in to SPM...I have a T1 board in slot 1 - and I actually installed it. Grrhh. Thanks to all..
