thread639-1452806 - I support an office that is using Macola SQL version 7.6.300c. I have been told by their office staff that Macola requires local admin privileges to operate properly(which is against corporate policy). Can someone confirm if Macola really does require such privileges. If not required, then what permissions where will work for both Macola and the Flex client?

Does this also pertain to 7.6.400B? My systems all require local admin access for Macola to run properly.

Progression client install does install components on the local workstation. Administrator rights are required for the Client install to execute correctly. Once the client install is done test it using the administator account, you must manually grant rights to specific files (macola7.ini), folders and registry keys. The users does not require full admin rights, but you must make or grant certain files, registry keys full control rights. If you have access to the Exact portal, refer to 17.027.168 which provides specifics.

I find it hard to beleive that I need to manually grant specific rights in many areas and do regedits for an app install. This should be taken care of by the installer. Currently all the users here have admin rights to the local systems. If this is not granted Macola will not launch CRW. Giving these rights to the users opens the door to more problems.

Has anyone looked into this with Exact?
