Tho I already managed to manually type the missing ones, I just wanted to know - why are most of these not included when I do this?

TIA

VFP object browser reads what is published in the type library. So obviously not all constants are published.

I get the same incomplete constant list when browsing and choosing Excel.EXE.

I don't think you can do anything about it but do as you already do: manually add missing constants from other documentation.

Bye, Olaf.

Another way to find the constants would be to go into the Ojbect Browser from within the Excel macro editor (rather than from VFP).

I've just done this, and I can see all the chart type constants that you were looking for, along with their values. Unfortunately, you can't drag these into a VFP editing window, like you can with the VFP Object Browser, but at least the values are all visible.

Maybe that also explains the constants are not part of the typelib as constants. They are part of enumerations. A concept VFP doesn't have. Though some chart type constants are still exported in VFPs object browser, makes this explanation working partial only, if at all. Anyway, I don't have a recipe to get all constants.

Bye, Olaf.

Thanks for the responses. I now understood this. And after doing what Sir Mike suggested, it's now clear to me that there are still tons of constants that were unable to get exported to VFP. Anyways, I may not use ALL those constants but it's enough for me to know they are there.

Because what we use is a very old development tool with no more updates and is supposed to be extinct years ago. But am very glad the fox still lives. [pipe]

Not entirely.

Even when it was new, VFP was only mediocre at discovering the innards of other applications. We've always had to bring our own knowledge.

Agree Sir Dan. But maybe, just maybe, full interfacing with other M$Office apps may have been part of the improvement if M$ continued VFP's development. *Wishful thinking*

Anyways, thank you all for the enlightenment. I appreciate it very much. [orientalbow]
