Ive a client with a Cisco 1721 running version 12.2(13)T1
Having never been through the minefield of choosing an IOS image before, some help would be greatly appreciated.

1)How do you find out what feature set is being used on the router?
2) do i just choose the IOS image with the highest release number- eg 12.3.6 ?

I just need a bit of a helping hand :)

MCSE NT&2K,CCNA/CCDA,CNA,ASE,NSP

used the 'show version' command
you should see this somewhere
Code:
System returned to ROM by power-on
System restarted at 09:41:58 CST Fri Mar 5 2004
**System image file is "flash:c2600-jk8s-mz.122-17a.bin"**

the "122-17a" is the IOS version
MAJOR MINOR - REVISION = 12.2.17(a)

you need to have CCO access and look under Software Advisor / Center
there are many different types of images

IP
IP Plus (Multicasting, NAT, Policy Routing)
Enterprise (All the Above + IPX, DLSW)
Enterprise Plus (All the above and more APPN, etc)
IP/IPX/Fw
IP/IPSec 56-bit DES
IP/IPSec 168-bit 3DES

i could go on and on but start here
