Hello,

We're migrating an existing Solomon/SQL Server system (to XP Pro) that utilizes Crystal Reports. When we try to print the checks, we get an error saying it can't find the CRPEHLPR.EXE File. This system was a turn key solution from a contractor that is no longer available. Can anyone shed some light on this file?

Thanks,

Dave

This is not a file I recognize as a CR native application. The only exe CR uses is the crw32.exe

This sounds like, it may have been a custom app created by the vendor for this 'Turn Key' application to handle the printing function. Probably checking what is being printed and directing it to a particular printer.

My best hope for you is that you have another machine with this app installed that you could check out the details of this file, but somehow I don't this is....

You may also simply need to reinstall the application to this new XP box to repair what files are missing.

I am sure you have already figured out what was going on, but, if not, you may want to contact Microsoft Business Solutions (Great Plains) at greatpalins.com/support.

CRPEHLPR.EXE is part of Solomon 4.5 and there was a hotfix released:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
4.50 Hot Fix Kernel 5 Build 1776
Summary: Update for Solomon IV 4.50 Hot Fix Kernel Release 5 Build 1776.
Modified: Tuesday, July 08, 2003
There is a file available for download and installation notes:
...
Copy these files to c:\program files\solomon iv.
SOLVBA.DLL
SAF.OCX
SAFDES.OCX
ROI.EXE
CRPEHLPR.EXE
Copy these files to c:\winnt\system32
SAFMASK.DLL
SWIMAPI.DLL
CRPESOL4.DLL
Register the files.
regsvr32 c:\winnt\system32\swimapi.dll
regsvr32 "c:\program files\solomon iv\solvba.dll"
regsvr32 "c:\program files\solomon iv\saf.ocx"
regsvr32 "c:\program files\solomon iv\safdes.ocx"
Thanks gkucher,
Appreciate the info.
