Hi Informatica Gurus.

I am using Informatica 8.1.1. I have a question around number of connections.

If i have 2 partitions on a session with the same connection parameter
$DBConnection_source

How many physical connections informatica will create. Will it create 2 separate connections for 2 partitions? or will it share the same connection for 2 partitions?

What I think is if above 2 partitions are allotted to different nodes, Informatica will have to create 2 separate connections. Does it happen? like partitions are allocated to different nodes?

Thanks in advance

Suresh

I think you can check this out on the source system. If INFA uses 2 connections there should be 2 sessions (not INFA sessions, but database types) where the INFA reader is active. Depending on the source database you can verify what each session/connection is doing..
