Question on Business Views

I can run Business Views within a Remote Desktop application (we are on a hosted system) but I also want to be able to run it on the local client. We tried to set this up but encountered a communications failure related to ports not being open. Does anyone know any "tricks" to get this to work, that might not be in the Knowledge Base, or if there is a specific port that has to be used, etc??

The Business objects client needs to be installed on the local machine.
