I believe that on Partner ACS rel 7 extensions (I am using 18D telephones)the power is carried on the black-yellow pair in the extension cables. Is this pair polarity sensitive?
Thank you.

I have found if I do not wire the jacks correctly that the phone will not work. You should have 2 pair twisted cable terminated on the jack. Following is an example:
white/blue to green of jack
blue/white to red of jack
white/orange to black of jack
orange/white to yellow of jack

I like that 1043. Get it done the right way.

Thank you for your help.

The question was only indirectly related to future wiring. I was interested in knowing whether the Partner ACS or the 18D telephone was sensitive to the polarity of this pair. That is if you connected an 18D telephone to a Partner ACS rel 7 with the black and yellow reversed, would it work or might it cause either piece of equipment to fail in some manner? Thanks again.

It will work the same if the polarity of an individual pair (Green/Red or Black/Yellow) is reversed.
