Question - How to trigger access code from Excel?

It depends on what you're trying to achieve.
You can add a reference to an MDB file in an Excel VBA project and call the database's subs and functions from within your Excel VBA project in the same way you would if they were part of the Excel project itself.
If you are talking about launching an Access system and calling a particular sub or function I would create a macro in the database to call the relevant code and launch the database using a command-line containing the /x switch to call the macro.
