Hi all, can anyone offer any insight

We've got a critical storage server with millions of wav files on and 12 x 36.4GB SCSI drives.

Previously it was configured with 6 drives, 1 RAID 0 34GB with 2 GB OS partition, and 5 configured RAID5 which gave us 130GB. We had to upgrade and add 6 more drives. The Compaq utility recognised the drives, though the most it would allow on one RAID 5 partition was 260GB, and 90GB is still unformatted.

However NT disk administrator still doesnt even recognise the 260GB, just the old 130GB.

We believe now that without using 3rd party software (which we dont want to do) that we are going to have to format the server and start again to get NT to recognise the upgrade

1) Does anyone know, is 260GB the biggest partition NT will allow or is that our compaq utility getting in on the fun?
2) After backing up our data, how long do you reckon it will take to format a 350GB RAID 5 array?

Cheers for any advice
