Hello Akribie

You answered a question for me on my last message. Probably the next one down (Gatociego- Need More Ram?)

You mentioned that you do not suggest me upgrading to Premier Pro while using my Celeron processor. You said that I should, instead, use a 'full-featured CPU'.

Question:
Pardon my ignorance, but what is a 'full-featured CPU'?

(I was thinking that just increasing RAM would solve my problem of slow preview-building in Premier, but a 512mg card of RAM is going to cost somewhere around $80, and if this isn't the solution...)

Depending on the age of your Celeron, you may be lacking part of the full instruction set which is enjoyed by processors further up the range. These missing instructions add efficiency to the processing of graphics and video. See
There are also other differences of note, which are discussed at:

In your situation, assuming that absolute minimum cost is not the driving factor, I would look at upgrading to a Core 2 Duo processor with at least 1Gb of fast memory on a new motherboard rather than adding memory to a slow system. Indeed, I'm pondering such an upgrade myself for my P4 3GHz setup.
