I would like to attach and make my DEC Alpha linux machine visible on a Novell Netware 4.11 network. I've enabled IPX and Samba and have chown and chgrp 'd the directories I wish to share my ownership and group. I see the Linux machine under "mygroup" in network neighborhood, but only see my home directory. Any suggestions?

in order to make your linux box a netware server, you need to load something like mars_nwe or see if caldera will port the nwserver to alpha linux [or wait for novell to do so, which it appears it is doing]. since you have added samba and see the machine on the network already, tho, it appears that using SMB will work for you, and you do not need netware support.<br>

most likely you are seeing the linux samba server in network neighborhood. in that case, the list of shares is editable from the smb.conf file, typically in /etc. man smb.conf for details, or surf to specifically, you need to add a new share for whatever directory you want to export. there are plenty of examples underneath the [Share Definitions] section of smb.conf for you to play with.
