Hi
I started using Painter for the last month for some illustration work. In the past, I have always used Photoshop. Anyhow, Painter is a great tool for a natural media look. I especially like the watercolor and liquid inks toolset. I find that I have no problem using these tools when the image is 72ppi, but If I start a doc at 300ppi that I intend to print, these tools are hardly real-time. They are bogged down in processing time. I have a 1.5 gig processor and a gig of ram and I read in a previous post that Painter only recognizes 512 megs of ram. With that said, how do illustrators, especially professional ones, deal with the inherent slowness of the product?
Thanks,
Dan
