Hello,

I currently have AD with windows server 2003, There are 10 client computers and 10 users. How do i let that person A install a software on computer A without giving him admin password ? His user is also in AD, and his user is just regular user and not in admin group.

Thanks

You can advertise / publish the program via group policy (advertising it makes it available to them, publishing installs it like it or not), particularly useful if you want all users or members of a group / OU to be able to install a particular application.

There is an application that will make a little exe the user can run to install an app as an admin without giving them the admin details, trying to remeber what it was called but failing at the mo . . . will post it if i remember . . .

Thanks,

But how can I advertise/publish the program via group policy ?

I want user can install the software but don't really want them to have the full administrator permission.

Or how do i give that user full permission for just that computer and then turn off later on ?

You can add them to local admins then delete them out again (or install the software for them using an admin acc.)

If you advertise the program via group policy (via the software installation option, right click and do new package I believe) it gives them elevated privelegaes for the package so they can install it, needs to be copied to a network share they can access of course.
