I have a valid, purchased CAS extension license that I need to upload.

My support contact sent me an email that said, "you need to use Winfiol to Xmodem the file onto the Hard drive, then into the system."

This seemed simple enough, but the process times out after 60 seconds. I can talk to the system OK through WinFiol (basic commands). I did not see anything obvious as far as Xmodem settings.

I can't reach my support guy today. He may be on vacation. I will try him again next week. I just thought someone on here may know.

thanks!

you must logon to the first port of the NIU to which the harddisk is connected.

then do :

FICPI:IODEV=SYSTERMINAL,PATH=/USR1/SES/LI/LIC.DAT;

You''l get this feedback:
READY FOR TRANSMISSION

then choose Run, Xmodem in winfiol and select the license file you want to upload.

transfer should begin within 30 seconds

after that you can check the contents of the file with

LIDFP:pATH=/USR1/SES/LI/LIC.DAT;

load license with

LIDAI:pATH=/USR1/SES/LI/LIC.DAT;

Cheers,

Daddy

before you FICPI do IOIFP and check your logon port is XMODEM not ECHO, and change with IOIFC if it is not, or the transfer will fail.

best parnum

p.s. I have used any serial port 1,2,3 as long as it is set to XMODEM to FICPI before.

best parnum

parnum, no need to set it to XMODEM (and do this thing a LOT)
