Hello all-

Don't know if I have the right forum so please let me know as I will post this to the Office 2003 forum as well. I'm about to upgrade my citrix/terminal servers (Windows 2000 SP4 -Metaframe XP FR3) from Office 2000 to Office 2003.

My users use published desktops in order to do their work. I've read thru 100's of forum files about which is the best practice measure for this upgrade. My question is -where do I actually install the Office resource kit? on the exchange server in order to create the proper transform files for user profiles OR do I install this kit on the actual Exchange server.

any support would be great!

hellboy101,
I would simply install the ORK tools on your laptop or a test server to create the transform files.

Basically you run the setup.exe on the ORK tools and it will install under your program files. Under your "Start-Programs" you should find the ORK tools program folder. Go in there and choose the custom installation wizard. This will prompt you for your msi file (located in the Office 2003 installation CD) and then it will ask you to name your mst file. It will walk you through the entire process.
One suggestion....in the username and user initials..REMOVE anything that is in there.

Other than that...when you get done with the wizard, grab your mst file and then run the setup.exe transforms=c:\yourtransformfile.mst command and you should be good.

Hope that helps.
