Hello,

We are considering migrating several of our access databases/apps to the SSE 2005 back end. The Microsoft site says that the DB size is limited to 4 GB. More literally: "4 GB maximum database size". Does that mean that one can only store 4GB of data on the database server period. Or would one be able to store, for example, hundreds of individual 3gb databases on a single machine/server?

None of our individual databases will reach 4gb any time in the next 20 years. But if you added up the size of all individual mdb files, they would exceed 4gb. Would we be able to store all of these individual, seperate databases using one SSE 2005 instance on one machine?

Yes. It's a per database limitation. Combined, your databases can be larger than 4 gigs.
