I got a question about SIMM base memory modules.Lets say i got four available memory slots on my motherboard and currently i have two sticks each with 16MB of memory occupying two of the four slots. Now if i wanna add additional RAM can i just add another 16MB cause i tried it a it doesn't detect the extra 16MB.But if i add two additional 16MB of RAM into the two other empty slots then it all adds up to 65MB.Does SIMMS have to go in pairs and does the brand or the manufacturer of the RAM play an important roll in this

Yes SIMMS need to be fitted in pairs.

The Golden Rule has always been "Matched Pairs"

I would suggest moving into the at least the mid 90's and upgrading with a new board and sdram. as for win98user nice iron maiden quote.
