I know that this is not a IDS-Question, but I need to know what can be wrong.
We use a Informix SE 724 bundeled with a product.
Now I need to connect via WinSQL to that.
My OBDC-Connection always pointed to
"Unable to load locale"
Server only has en_US. I set DB_LOCALE and CLIENT_LOCALE to en_US.CP1252 but the message always stand.

What can I do to get the connect

Hello Uwe,

I use Informix Dynamic Server 7.3 and will outline the steps necessary to connect to it via ODBC, this may help you.

1) Download the Informix Software Developers Kit from the IBM Web Site. It's free. Make sure you get the correct version for the workstation you will be running it on.

2) What sort of platform is your Informix SE running on. You need to find the services file and get the port number for SQLEXEC.

3) You then need to add an entry on the services file on your workstation to include the port number.

4) Install ISDK on your workstation and then run setnet32. Enter the appropriate host name, server name and service (sqlexec)

5) You can then use DBPING to test the connectivity.

6) Let us know what platform you are running informix on and what platform you are connecting from and I may be able to help you further.

Good luck
