hi - I have a general question about Relationships between Tables. What is the advantage in establishing these Relationships in the Relationships Window - as opposed to just setting up JOINS in SQL. I'm not questioning the importance of Relationships, but wondering if their is any advantage to using the Relationships window? Do these two approaches really amount to the same thing?
Thanks

Using the relationships window will assist with designing queries since the joins will automagically appear. This is also the accepted method for enforcing referential integrity and cascading.

A SQL join has nothing to do with establishing a relationship. The purpose of creating relationships is to
Enforce referential integrity
Allow for cascading deletes
Allow for cascading updates
