I am beginning to feel like the dumbest person in these forums. I have two servers, one is running Samba very reliably and the other is hit-or-miss. When I perform the nmblookup command on the working server I see a different broadcast address and nmask than I see on the server I am having trouble with. I am wondering if this is one of the reasons I am having difficulties? If so, where do those parameters even get set?
Both servers are on the same network/subnet...even the same segment! Not using WINS either. Heres my smblookup results:
### Working Server ###
Added interface ip=1.192.50.1 bcast=1.255.255.255 nmask=255.0.0.0
Sending queries to 0.0.0.0
1.192.50.1 testbox
### Unreliable Server (bad server! bad!) ###
Added interface ip=1.192.50.2 bcast=0.0.0.0 nmask=10.10.59.10
Sending queries to 0.0.0.0
1.192.50.2 bizbox
Please help!
