Hello
I asked this question about QuarkXPress layers, and was wondering if an InDesign user could tell me of InDesigns layer printing capabilities.
The goal would be to create a single InDesign document, create layers that only have text on them, and use the text layers as a way to version the document for different readers? I am assuming this can be done.
My bigger question is this: can you then tell InDesign to print the document so that each layer prints automatically. So if you have a layer for Chicago text, a layer for New York text, and a layer for Cleveland text, you set your options so InDesign prints the Chicago version, then the New York version, then the Cleveland version.
On QuarkXPress you would have to alternately turn each layer on and off manually to print each version. I'd like to know if InDesign could do that automatically
Thanks in advance for any ideas on this
