Question About Object Alignment

Hi,

In Flash 8 Professional, I'm creating some words one letter at a time, with each graphic-symbol letter in a different frame.

I'd like to align the letters along the bottoms so that they are even, but the small cross-hair "plus" sign in the upper left-hand corner of each letter-symbol tells me (if I'm interpreting the cross-hair sign correctly) that the default is to align by the upper left-hand corner.

How does one change the alignment point of an object from the upper left-hand corner to the lower left-hand corner? I've opened the "Align" panel and poked around in it but wasn't able to find a way to change the alignment point.

Thanks!
Bill

in the convert to symbol box where you select graphic there is a row of 9 squares on the right next to where it says registration...

which ever square you choose dictates where the cross hair is on ur symbol...

choosing the bottom left hand box will put the cross hair there

Well, I thought B52's suggestion would solve the problem. I started my project over, taking each letter, breaking it apart, and then saving it as a graphic symbol with the alignment crosshairs in the lower left-hand corner.

I assumed that if I gave all the letter-objects the same y-coordinate number, they would align where the crosshairs are, at the bottom. But look at what happened:

The letter-i object has the same y-coordinate as the other two objects, but although the alignment crosshairs are at the bottom of the symbol, the "i" is aligned at the top.

What do I need to do to get the objects to align at the bottom instead of the top?

Thanks!
Bill

have you tried highlighting them all then going to modify - align... inside of here you can align them right left bottom and top... if you choose top it should line them up...

but im assuming youve already tried that?
