question about NPV formula in excel 2003

hi there, got an example as follows:
10% discount rate
10,000 initial investment
100 monthly income for 36 months (3 yrs)

as the npv function got 29 arguments, other than changing the monthly income into yearly income, any better method to calculate the npv according to the monthly income schedule?

Depending on interest rules, you can still use NPV after recalculating discount rate to monthly value. You can use a block of data (range) thet will be calculated as single argument.
For exact calculations or custom sashflows use XNPV function.
