Was wondering if the way to block everyone but one user from printing to a network printer was to capture the printer port? I'm running Novell 5.1 with queue based printing and Win 95/98 clients.

You must modify the Print Queue Object in NWADMIN32.

Go to DETAILS for the Print Queue object and select the Users tab. By default, you will see the Context that the Print Queue object resides which basically allows everyone in the Context to Print to this Queue. Highlight the Context and delete it. Do the same thing for anything else that may be listed. Next, click ADD and select the individual User you want to print through this queue.

Good luck!

To add what salserocito said, I control access to certain printers by creating a group and assigning it as a user of the print queue. Any users that require access go in there. I find it easier to audit with a group. -----------------------------------------------------
