I have a couple of questions about MCTs. I know that they have access to the Microsoft Official Curriculum. But are they restricted to only the courses that they are allowed/certified to teach, or is it wide open? Do they have to pay per-course for access?

My employer (a managed partner) does not currently have any MCTs on staff, but we occasionally provide a multi-day crash course for customers when we implement new products for them. We also don't have that great of an internal training regimen (it's mostly self-study when you have the time). I'm trying to convince them of the value value in having one or two MCTs on staff to provide internal and customer training, and to potentially provide regular external training classes as a revenue stream. We know it would be beneficial, we just don't know how beneficial and in this economy we have to justify every nickel. I'm just not clear on how the MCT program works once you are actually certified and in the program. Can anyone clarify?
