Hello, I have a couple of questions about the decreasing the load time of a .swf. I have a .swf that the 1st frame is huge and I can't figure out why. I'm using a bitmap background that loads in the first frame but I've optimized it in Fireworks where it says it should only take 2 seconds to load, it takes 20 seconds for the first frame to load! I have a lot of stuff in the library that I'm not using so is that the problem? Is everything in the library loaded or just the stuff that is used?
Thanks,
Jim

What else are you using in your movie? Components, attached movie clips and/or sounds, or embedding fonts?
Most of those must download on the first frame (linkage) and that could explain the "size" of the first frame.
Unused items shouldn't have any effect on the size of the .swf.
