Hello all! Firstly I feel very out of place posting here (Feel like I fit in
like a stripper would in a monastry) as I am a Windows user. But not for
much longer, as I'm shortly going to be using SlackWare.
Anyway, the reason I'm posting here is because my webserver space is on a
Linux based server, and I saw something on a webpage today saying you can
use the CustomLog command in the httpd.conf file. This will allow you (from
what I can tell) output either a file, or execute a script (CGI is the only
one that appeared to work. Can you use PHP?).
I despartly want to create my own personal log of what bandwith is being
used by a particual user. Now before people say just enable logs on your
server, that's allready done. I need to colate bandwidth info by running my
own script, thats a nessacity.
I know a little .htaccess and know I can make a file in a directory I want
to protect etc. Is it possible to make one of these files a directory, or do
I have to ask my webhoster if I can edit the main httpd.conf file? If anyone
knows of anymeans of me making a script get called when a image is accessed
could they please let me know.
I'm desperate to get something working!
Many thanks
Phil
