Hi,
Quick question. Im thinking about setting up a failover pix-520. I know how to setup by a book I have. SO i will take those steps. I will connect the failover cable/etc. I have 4 network cards in my primary pix. WHat if a nic goes bad in the primary pix? Do i need ethernet cards in the second pix? If so, where to they get hooked to?

Thanks..Im just a bit confused.

Your secondary/failover PIX has to be identical to your primary (interfaces and OS version).

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. One final question because im still lost. I have my servers connected directly to my interfaces. So there is no spot to plug the second pix in. Are you telling me it should be like this.

One Pix
internet router
|
CISCO PIX1
| |
server1 server2

Two Pix's
internet router
|
CISCO PIX1
| |
SWITCHA SWITCHB
| |
Server1 Server2

Then plug CISCO PIX2 interface to the correct switch? SO basically the part I am missing is the switch? This cannot be done without the switch?
Thanks

PIX1 -- PIX2

SWITCHA -- SWITCHB

Server1 Server2

Both PIX's will be connected to EVERYTHING that each pix will be connected to.
