I have been evaluating Microsoft's Virtual Server for a few weeks, and now I'm looking into VMWare ESX 3.0 because we are considering moving to a more virtualized environment at our company. I have an ESX eval copy, and I am trying to install it on some old test hardware that I have laying around just so that I can get a feel for how it works (especially compared to the MS solution). However, I am unable to find storage drivers for a Promise TX2300 RAID controller. Since you generally wouldn't run ESX on something so lightweight, I wasn't suprised that Promise didn't have any drivers for it. However, I thought that since ESX is running on some sort of Linux base that I might be able to put something together with Linux drivers. Does anyone know a good place to find drivers that work with VMWare ESX, or how they differ from more general Linux drivers?
