Hello everybody,

Hope you are OK.
I ran this command on my AIX server: ( prtconf | grep -i disk ) to see all hard disks I have.
But I can not understand the result.
When I check the server I find only 2 hard disks ( not as the result shown in the attached photo )

Waiting your answer to explain the result descried in the photo.

Many thanks

I see 2 local disk and one san lun from a DS4700/4800. The second local hard disk hdisk1 does not look like it is being used.
What does lspv show. Your local OS is not mirrored. Make sure you have a mksysb. What do you want to do, you have two local disk and are using only one.

Thanks chgwhat
Please tell me how did you know these info
and what are ( dac0, dac1 ) and why some disks listed by this way:
hdisk0
hdisk1
and other disks listed as:
*dac0
*dac1
and other listed as:
+hdisk0
+hdisk1
+hdisk2

-------

When I run lspv, I got these result:
hdisk0 00cec2049865befd rootvg active
hdisk1 00cec204aef76c0f None
hdisk2 00cec20408029ea1 finvg active

prtconf shows
The following resources are installed on the machine.
+/- = Added or deleted from Resource List.
* = Diagnostic support not available.

hdisk0 and hdisk2 are active in a volume group. so no preceding character.
+hdiskX show that the system knows it is there and can run diagnostic on it if unused.
darX, dacX are Aix representation of the DS4000 SAN controllers running with DAC driver, guessing around firmware version 6.60. And the * means AIX does not support running diagnostics on the SAN controller.
