Hello Friends

I am getting the folllwoing error while trying to connect to a database
"Failed to open the connection. Details: ORA-12541: TNS:no listener [Database Vendor Code: 12541]"

I believe my TNSname.ora is fine and i don't have listener.ora
I can connect to the DB fine with sql developer, but when i try it through crystal reports i get the above error.

Thank for the help.

Hi,
Assuming CR and sqlDeveloper are on the same workstation:

1: be sure that multiple tnsnames.ora files do not exist
2: From a command window try tnsping <database alias in tnsnames.ora>

If #2 works fine and #1 shows only 1 tnsnames.ora file,then
using the set database location option in CR, see if you can set the database to that alias..Do a verify database to insure a fresh connection...
