Hi Guys,

I took the CCNA test the other day and failed. I'm almost positive it was from not doing the proper methods in the labs (I had three). How would you guys answer this lab.

Lab:
You have two routers setup for ABC company, but you need add another one. You have xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx/22 allotted to your company, and you need to use the first available subnet for ethernet 0 and the the next available subnet for serial 0. You should not use the zero subnet.

Ok... So from what it appears to me from looking at the diagram, is that I should subnet the /22 into /24s. I did that, and taking away the zero subnet, it looks like the first available subnet is being used by serial 1 on the middle (existing router). So I used that subnet for serial 0, and the next available subnet for ethernet 0. I also noticed that rip was running on the other two routes (because it turned it on on mine). I pulled the other routes from the other routers and was able to ping all the other routers interfaces. One thing I forgot to do was "copy running-config startup-config", but I don't think I should have failed from that?

What are the steps I SHOULD have taken to do this lab? The end result for me was that I was able to get connectivity for everything, but I think I might have failed that part of the test anyway.

<One thing I forgot to do was "copy running-config startup-config", but I don't think I should have failed from that?>

My first point - ALWAYS do a copy run star, even if not asked to.

My second point - NEVER post questions from a CISCO exam on a forum. You "sign" a non disclosure agreement before taking the exam, and breaking it can lose you your qualification!

Good point for #1. I still don't know if this simply just took off a point or two, or if it made me miss that whole lab question.

I don't think I'm violating the agreement on the test. A good reason is because I can't remember the exact question. 2 is I don't know if I got it right or wrong. 3 is I didn't give any specific information pertaining to the original question. What I wrote is a generalization of the question, and I am wondering how someone else would answer it to see if I think I got it right or wrong. I don't see it being any different from the practice exams and books out there.

The reason for asking the question is to try to see the Cisco "proper" methods. Because there are many ways to skin a cat, I wanted to know Cisco's way of skinning the cat. :)
