Guys,

I'm looking to buy two ISR cisco router as my gateway to my ISP. I have a fiber 100mbps service. Basically the ISP is going to supply the pipe and I'm going to setup the router. I say router for redundancy , I'm going to setup HSRP . I was looking at the 2911 because the pps is more then enough for what bandwidth i'm given at 167mbps with 64 byte packet size. I guess my question is, is there another router you can recommend that is cheaper and I can still do HSRP.. I dont need ios cisco firewall or ipsec because it's just acting as a gateway for my users.

Thanks

You could compare them with a pair of Juniper SRX 210s, for example, see how different the price and specifications are.

Vince,
Thanks for the response. I'm sorry but when i meant cheaper i was was thinking a cheaper cisco router, like 2851.

Even 1900 series will be able to do that, and they are not expensive.

Does it have to be CISCO ? H3C has some nice L3 devices and so does Fortinet (110C, 300 series) should probably be more than enough for you.

We must go always forward, not backward
always up, not down and always twirling twirling towards infinity.
