Have a backbone which my servers reside on and its physically separated from all my vlans. It sits in front of my distribution switch.

I would like to add another L2 switch, but wondering whether I just connect directly to my backbone switch and configure an IP on the backbone network or connect it to my core switch to allow management vlan and have it connected to my other backbone switch? The current backbone switch is a Linksys one that is currently isolated and has an IP on the backbone network to manage it. It is not connected to my MGMT vlan whatsoever.

Any help would be appreciated.
