I am new at this and must be missing something. I have an IP office 400 system and VoiceMail Pro.

I am trying to get the auto attendant to work. I guess it would be nice if we could make it pick up after X rings but for now, I am tring to get it to kick in when we set it to night ring.

We have a hunt group called Library.

In VoiceMail Pro I created a module called Lib Attend and created a group LibAttend with a leave entry point pointing ot the Lib Attend module. The module has a voice recording and it all works.

So in the IP office manager I have the night service set to the name in VoiceMail Pro "Lib Attend"

I must be doing this wrong. I can toggle the nightservice but it is just going to a standard greeting. Not the voice mail.

So does the IP office actually see the Groups in the VoiceMail Pro?

Thank you very much in advance.

Rich

Try putting in a "route by call" status action in the leave entry point. point the "out of hours" option at the AA module and all other options at a "get mail" action for the group.

hope this helps

Thanks for the reply !

I ended up getting it working. So now I need to add a couple features.

1) I need to allow them to change the message for the attendant. In my case its called "Lib Attend" and is a module in voicemail pro.

I think this is where I would use a short code but have not made it work. The old system has some short codes. As an example one was *83 and had a feature of voicemailnode with a telephone number of #somename.

2) I would like to add a delay to the night ring so they can pick up. Maybe I shouldnt have used a night ring for the auto attendant but I did and it works OK.

So how do I make the "group" ring and after 2 rings roll to the auto attendant (which in my case is set to night ring) ?

Thanks

Rich

did you use the route by call status action in the end???

Jamie,

No, I did not. Only because it worked after my last go around and did not want to mess it up.

But I can do so if needed. Where would you add this? At the end of what? Surely not the VM/Menu module.

Rich

if you look in the menu action of your AA (Lib Attend) and look in entry promts, have you got a wav file in there, ie the message that the caller hears to announce the options. If you want to rerecord this wav file you can either do it from there or create another module and an edit playlist action and set this at the wav file in use on the lib attend menu.

as for delaying the night ring so people can answer the phone, try changing the no answer timeout on the night hunt group.
