Is there a reason the Microsoft Certification and Testing forum seems to be more complaining about jobs and money then of what it is supposed to be and the Oracle Certification and Testing forum seem to be more about what it was made for, questions?

I'm not complaining just wondering if the job market is better for Oracle or is just the number of people doing MCSE.

I was leaning toward Oracle before and this observation just seems to make it lean a lot further. AJ

IMHO, the reason for that is the value of the MCSE has become so watered down, that it has lost it punch. It has become watered down because they are fairly easy to get, and lots of people have them. That coupled with the fact that having the certification, without any experience to go along with it, is for all practical purposes, relatively useless. And the people who have them, are upset because they are no longer able to capitalize on having them. That certification no longer sets them apart from the rest. I have nothing against the MCSE, I just don't think in today's world that it adds much value to your worth.

Such is not the case with Oracle. Those with Oracle certifications are still set apart from the rest, so the certification still has added value. How much added value will vary from person to person, but it still means something. Its a much more "exclusive" club in which to be a member. Personally, I think its more difficult to obtain, and unlike the MCSE, I think you need more experience to earn that certificate. Not that experience is a pre-requisite, but rather its much easier to earn that certificate when you have experience to draw upon.

I do belive that the market for an Oracle DBA is much better than for a MCSE, and I think you'd being doing yourself a favor by continuing to pursue Oracle.

Just my humble opinion. Good Luck
