I've often read that if you can afford it, Quest Central for DB2 is one of the best GUI administrative/Query tools for DB2. On the Oracle platform Toad was the tool of choice. Quest has recently released a version of Toad for DB2. Has anyone played with either of these products? How do they compare?

I have used both TOAD for ORACLE and Quest Central for DB2.

The first one is a much more complete package. The Quest Central version for DB2 was sorely lacking in many ways.

Do you know anything about Quest's new Toad for DB2?

Unfortunately I have moved away from DB2 :(
Quest still offers trial versions though..

I've been playing with the trial. It seems a bit buggy. Our database keeps crashing while I'm using it, but I don't know if that is just a coincidence. So far I would say that Toad for DB2 is better than IBM's command editor, but it is still not that impressive. I do not think it is the same quality as other quest products. Then again, this is only version 1.
