Quest AD Mig mgr 8.6 tool for an EMC cifs data move?

Does anyone have any experience in moving cifs data using Quest AD mig manager 8.6.. this is emc celerras based.. there is no windows api from what I understand and from what I have read in the Quest admin guide 8.6, there is limited information on pg 128 discussing some potential method to use but I do not feel confident.. from what I am seeing is if the quest agent can not communicate with the data volume (no api) how can it harness a migration process for this data..

any ideas? Santhosh help!!! :)
