Ques on ODBC refresh interval

In Access 2003, the ODBC refresh interval is set at 1500 (sec) - that is 25 minutes. That seems high to me, but I am not an expert. What are the implications of changing to a lower setting? My situation is a network shared backend mdb with a local front end mde.
