Querying an Excel file within the Server

I have a report which needs to query an excel file as well as a database to run. Does anyone know how/where I would put the excel file on the server (Crystal Server 2008) in order to run the report from the CMC? I have tried adding it to the same folder the report but I know I need to indicate a file location or something in order for the report to know it's there. Any help, hints are appreciated.

Hi,
The folders in the CMC are NOT file locations so you need to place the Excel file on a drive and directory you can access (does not need to be on the server, if on your network)..

Specify the location in your connection (ADO or ODBC, probably) using the UNC method

\\server\directory\filename.xls

and be sure that the CR Server's services have rights to that location.
