Querying a mirror of MAS db

I am currently in the process of revamping my system (ie. upgrade from 3.61 to 3.71 (4.10 is too much of a jump on a new server .... The HDD where MAS is will be mirrored at all times ... I was wondering if anyone knew if it is possible to query a mirror of the MAS db without having a second instance of MAS running ... more specifically does the Providex ODBC work simply by accessing the file , or does it need an instance of the server to be running.

MAS 90 doesn't have a application server (or host) program and it uses the same ODBC driver and DSN as 200. You don't need to have MAS running to use ODBC.
