query works without Totals but then....

As soon as I add the Total line, group by's, Sums, expressions, etc it tells me it is too complex.

I've done this a thousand times before and there is nothing special this time, and the strange thing is it worked last month.

Has anyone experienced this?

I also have a union query that is not working now (same error) that I took the Grouping/Total option out of the two queries.

Step one: Backup.

Scan through your data in the query and see if you see anything that is #Error or #Name?

Note the record and look at the expression causing the problem and the underlying data. Hopefully you will see what needs fixing... If it is the actual data, your best bet is to enter a replacement record and delete the original. Finally, compact and repair.

If there are no errors in the underlying query...
