Okay I am developing this database that allows users to enter in specific fields in an attempt to find a matching grass. At the minute the user has to enter in a value for all the fields before a match is found. However, because this database is being designed for different levels of expertise I want the user to be able to leave some fields blank if they are not sure what the corresponding feature looks like on their specimen. How would I do this?

Thank u!

Hiya Bikeress,

Hmm, grass, lawn products?

Anyway, if you set the criteria to

=LIKE(iif(len(control.value)>0,control.value,"*")

You can do this...I think the syntax is correct.

HTH,
Drew
