Quick question. I am using Crystal reports 11. I have a query that I built in Toad, and it runs just fine in Toad. It is 1175 lines long. When I use add-command in Crystal and paste this query into the command window and click OK, I get an error. When I look back at the query, it has been truncated to about 1000 lines. If I delete some blank spaces, lines, etc., less of the query gets truncated, but it still does. So, it appears to be a character limit to this command. Is this a setting that can be changed? (also I'm using Oracle) Thanks!

There likely is a limit and it is likely a registry key, I wish I could help more.

I guess the question is why it is so long. Maybe the query could be rewritten to be more efficient?

Hi,
I agree with lbass on this ( and most things) - how on earth
did you manage an 1175 line query?

If you cannot refine that monster then create a view or a stored procedure that returns the data as a refcursor and use Crystal to access that.

( just a personal note, I have worked with Oracle since 1987 and I never ran across a query nearly that long)
