Query to take away duplicates

I have a table like the following:

Name Login Date
XX 1/1/2002
XX 1/2/2002
XX* 1/3/2002
XY 1/2/2002
XY* 1/4/2002
XZ 1/8/2002
XZ* 1/10/2002

Its sorted my Name followed by LoginDate. I want to retrieve the latest login date (the starred records). Does anyone know hot to build a query that does that?

have you try to use the group by and then on Login Date use
Max?
